War Kingdoms is played on a two-dimensional map system consisting of grid of squares, with XY coordinates each ranging from -256 to 256. Consequently, there are 263,169 grids on the War Kingdoms Map.
The distance from one grid to one next is 20 seconds for armies and 5 seconds for spies. Hence, while armies travel the maximum possible distance on the map in about 4 hours, spies are faster and travel will take only 1 hour.
At each grid square there can be one of several things:
Kingdom centers can only be plundered by the players, but colonies and cities are conquerable. Unoccupied places can be colonized by existing players or can be occupied by new kingdoms and become kingdom centers. Forests, lakes, mountains and deserts can never be occupied by any kingdom. Places on the map are represented with distinct symbols.
